Welcome to our website. For Girlguiding Croydon, 2010 is a very special year as we continue to celebrate our Centenary. At the National Launch last September, many of you will have enjoyed a fantastic day at Crystal Palace, which of course is where it all started 100 years ago. A group of Edwardian girls gatecrashed the first Scout Rally demanding to do exciting things like the Boy Scouts. Lord Baden-Powell asked his sister, Agnes, to organise something for the girls and so the Girl Guides were formed in 1910. I hope you agree that it is a very exciting time to be involved in Guiding and you will have many opportunities for fun, friendship and adventure. We are very proud that the 1st Croydon Guide Unit, formed in early 1910, is still active today.

Please send in any photos of you and your unit celebrating the Centenary!
Campfire Challenge Booklet now available to download!!
Make sure that you take advantage of the many events and activities being offered at District, Division, County, Region or even National level, so that you and your girls manage to get a ‘mountain top moment’. Remember that Guiding aims to offer a safe, girl-only environment where girls benefit from being part of a world-wide organisation which has a structured programme that can help them throughout their most formative years.
I look forward to meeting many of you in 2010 at your unit meeting place or perhaps at an event. Do make of note in your diary for 20 October 2010 when we will be having our very own fabulous Finale at Fairfield Halls. I am confident that this will be a fantastic end to our centenary celebrations and look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible – book your ticket now!
My very best wishes to you all for 2010.
