International Opportunities

  • Are you interested in International Guiding?
  • Would you like to see the world and meet Guides from other Countries?
  • Will you be between 13 and 18 years of age by 1st July 2012?
  • Do you have a sense of humour, positive outlook and lots of enthusiasm?
  • Are you a team player and ready to face unknown challenges?

If ‘YES’ to all of the above, then come along to the County International Opportunities event!

The weekend will give you a chance to find out about the international opportunities that exist to you in Guiding. You’ll take part in a selection of activities, meet lots of new people and face some new challenges.

From this event we will be able to send a handful of participants forward to the Region event, where you will have the opportunity to go on the trip of a lifetime! This will involve:

  • A long haul journey
  • Contact with a culture that is very different from our own
  • A Service project
  • Interaction with Guides from the destination country

(Region participants need to be aged 14+ by 1st July 2012)

If there are enough people interested, we will also look at putting together a County trip for 2012, which would involve meeting Guides from another country and experiencing a new culture.

If you’re ready for the challenge then contact Sarah for more information and an application form.

If you like the sound of the event but can’t make part of the weekend, please contact Sarah to discuss attending part of the weekend (we wouldn’t want you to miss out due to other commitments).

Closing date for applications is Friday 29th April
